Transthoracic Echo

A transthoracic echocardiogram (TTE) is a non-invasive ultrasound test used to evaluate the heart's structure and function. During the procedure, a sonographer moves a handheld transducer over the patient's chest, capturing images of the heart from different angles. The test provides detailed information about heart chambers, valves, and blood flow, allowing for the assessment of heart health and the detection of potential abnormalities. TTE is a safe and painless procedure that typically takes about 30 to 60 minutes. A cardiologist interprets the results and may recommend further tests or treatments based on the findings.
